East of England Co-op has expanded its rapid grocery delivery through a new partnership with Uber Eats, which is supported by the Snappy Technologies’ OA Platform.

Customers in the region can now order from the retailer’s stores through the Uber Eats app or website. The service allows for delivery of standard grocery items alongside household essentials.

The integration utilises the Snappy Technologies’ OA platform, which allows retailers to manage multiple online channels through a single solution. The OA platform is designed to streamline operations for grocery retailers looking to expand their digital footprint.

The move helps East of England Co-op expand its online reach while continuing to manage all orders through a single operational workflow, which gives shoppers more flexibility.

Simon Dryell, chief commercial officer at East of England Co-op, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Uber Eats and launch the service across 33 of our food stores. Snappy Technologies’ OA platform has given us a fast and efficient route to launch on Uber Eats while simplifying the management of our online channels. This partnership helps us meet the changing needs of our communities, ensuring customers can access the products they need quickly and easily from their local East of England Co-op.”

This builds on an existing partnership between the convenience retailer and Snappy Technologies OA platform, which manages orders from Snappy Shopper marketplace and Foodhub. The retailer previously used the platform to handle delivery operations for its own marketplace and third-party orders.

While the expansion provides a new avenue for local shoppers to access goods, it introduces a third-party delivery partner to the retailer’s network. The retailer will rely on Uber Eats to handle the logistics of getting goods to customers, rather than managing these deliveries in-house.
