Target has debuted a New York-inspired food market inside its remodeled store in the SoHo neighborhood. The renovated lower level of the concept store includes a spruced-up grocery experience, with a focus on turning familiar staples of the grocery run into moments of discovery.
The store’s food and beverage space features red accents and white-and-gray checkered flooring, with a layout that accentuates perimeter categories and freestanding display cases. Target aimed to create a space that resembles a modern city market.
The lower level also includes a snack bar, a seasonal shopping bar, a Balance Mart for wellness items, a Bullseye Loft home destination area, and an Explorers’ Lab featuring toys and entertainment products. These additions extend the store’s objective of providing an innovative and immersive shopping experience.
Target Chief Brand Officer Michelle Mesenburg said the store‘s renovation brings the joy of discovery to every corner of the store, turning everyday essentials into moments of inspiration and giving guests something new to love with every Target run.
In 2027, Target plans to add SoHo-exclusive products, collectibles, and experiences to the store. The retailer has seen a 7.2% year-over-year increase in food and beverage sales, which has helped bolster its financial strength. Target operates 109 stores across New York, with over 40 locations in the Big Apple, as part of its store fleet of more than 2,000 U.S. locations.
The store’s new features, such as the snack bar and the Explorers’ Lab, are designed to make the shopping experience more engaging. The company has also seen a significant increase in food and beverage sales, which is a positive sign for the business. The 7.2% year-over-year increase is a notable achievement, and it highlights the company’s ability to drive sales growth.
