The Perfume Shop has released its list of the 10 fragrances expected to define the summer market in 2026, highlighting a shift toward lighter, brighter scents as consumers prepare for holidays and outdoor events.
The retailer, the UK’s largest specialist perfume chain, said the selection reflects broader trends in fragrance, including fresh lavender, aromatic notes, and juicy berry-inspired scents. Playful florals also feature prominently, with the list balancing established luxury brands and newer seasonal releases.
Luxury names dominate the list
The lineup includes perfumes from Carolina Herrera, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Prada, alongside emerging favorites like Viktor & Rolf and Ghost. Each scent was chosen for its ability to evoke the energy of summer, according to the retailer.

Why summer scents resonate
Harris noted that perfume is often tied to memory, with summer fragrances evoking past holidays and celebrations. The retailer expects these 10 scents to be among the most sought-after launches of the year, offering shoppers a way to capture the season’s mood.
The prediction comes as the industry continues to see strong demand for seasonal releases. While classic fragrances remain popular year-round, retailers say summer provides an opportunity for experimentation, with lighter, more lively scents gaining traction.
If the forecast holds, these perfumes could shape not just consumer choices but also how brands approach future seasonal collections. The balance between established names and newer entries suggests a market that still values tradition but is open to fresh interpretations.
