3.3By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases. AIDS is now the leading cause of death among adolescents (aged 10–19) in Africa and the second most common cause of death among adolescents globally. Tuberculosis remains the leading cause of death among people living with HIV, accounting for around one in three AIDS-related deaths. Four out of every five deaths of children under age five occur in these regions.
